Introducing: the Field Note Society 🌙🌿

If you’ve known me for even a short while, you know I feel most at home amongst the trees, swallowed whole by the sounds of the birds, enchanted by the insects.

My absolute joy raced through me when I saw the lightning bugs hovering above the gratuitous lawns this summer… There is just something about nature that seems to exist quietly alongside us, going almost unnoticed unless you’ve taken a true moment to look.

And I have spent a long time looking. And marveling.

Have you ever noticed a moth appearing at dusk? Or perhaps the first fern as it unfurls in spring? What about a field turning to gold at the end of summer? The strange little creatures that emerge when the world changes around them?

I have always been fascinated by these quiet transformations, and by the ways we, too, are shaped by the environments we inhabit.

This is the world I have been building through my artwork: women, flora, fauna, seasons, and the invisible ecosystems that connect us all. The things that flourish from within us and around us. The things that compel us to heal, to reflect, to nourish our souls when things feel a bit lost.

And now, I want to invite you a little further into it.

Welcome to the Field Note Society

The Field Note Society is my new monthly art subscription, created as an extension of this evolving body of work.

Each month, a new postcard-sized, collectible print will arrive, inspired by the natural world and the particular moment in which it finds us.

The artwork may draw from a seasonal flowering plant, a particular order or family of species, a seasonal landscape, a piece of natural history, folklore, or some strange little detail of life and earth that caught my attention.

My hope is to impart something of the wisdom of the earth through these little pieces: that which came before us, that which sustains us, and that which will live long after us.

The calendar of nature itself becomes part of the artwork.

The equinoxes and solstices.
The return of migratory creatures.
The first signs of spring.
The abundance of summer.
The quieting of autumn.
The long, strange stillness of winter.

Each month has its own inhabitants.

And I want the Field Note Society to feel a little like keeping a record of them.

What arrives in your mailbox?

Every monthly mailing will include:

✦ An exclusive art print
A new piece created specifically for Field Note Society members.

✦ Stickers
Little fragments of the month’s artwork to keep, share, or stick wherever you please.

✦ A rotating field artifact
Depending on the month, you may also receive an illustrated field note, bookmark, paper artifact, or another small collectible created to accompany that month’s theme.

No two months will ever be exactly the same.

Over time, these pieces will become a growing archive: a collection of the women, creatures, plants, seasons, and strange little wonders that inhabit my artistic world.

Follow the seasons. Collect the ecosystem.

The Field Note Society isn’t meant to be just another monthly package.

It is an invitation to slow down and notice things.

To look a little closer at the moth resting against the window.

To notice what is blooming.

To wonder what lives beneath the leaves.

To recognize that we are not separate from the natural world, but continually taking from it and returning to it.

There is something almost ritualistic about marking the passage of time through the things that surround us.

So each month, as the world changes, I’ll send you a little piece of it.

A field note from the ecosystem.

A small artifact from the season.

A reminder of the strange, beautiful things that flourish within us and around us.

One month. One new artifact. One more piece of the ecosystem.

Welcome to The Field Note Society. 🖤
